One small nugget of inspiration I had this week was reading a post off someone’s Facebook page, “limitations inspire creativity.” That certainly is the case with me. I can’t afford much, inspiring to hear what I can compose with my acoustic gear. I can’t travel but it inspired me to utilize my own land. My schedule shifted a bit allowing me a small pocket of time to explore and write.

Driving last night I almost struck a deer. I did exactly what you are not supposed to do and swerved to miss it, and I barely did. Getting the car back under control was tricky. Every thing that was running through my head before the deer came along was gone. I was lucky as the deer was and as the oncoming car was. There’s gotta be a song in there somewhere

A friend told me that my new song “Pocket Knife,” sounds like Eddie Vedder’s music used in the movie “Into the Wild.” I was thankful for the comparison but even more thankful for the inspiration. I think that is a great direction for the EP. We’ll see how it goes.
