Morning Scouting in Tumalo
This morning I had the opportunity to start location scouting for my Off-the-Grid, Gig sessions in Central Oregon. I didn’t know where to start so I drove a loop from Bend to Tumalo and continued on to Powell Butte to Sisters then back to Bend.
If anything I got some good inspiration from the sights. That entire area is dominated by the fantastic views of the Three Sisters Mountains. The open fields and western architecture, twisty juniper trees and pine forests littered with lava rocks. I can see why Sisters Folk Festival is well suited for its visiting artists. I could imagine coming from the city that the area might be a breath of fresh air.
Since winter is setting in my thoughts of having a gig out in a wide open pasture kind was put on the back burner. I’m thinking that late spring would be a great time. Perhaps a gig with llamas walking around me? I’d probably get spit on or they might try eating one of my cords.
